We just want to dance! During the creative process of Neon, all movements were choreographed in the IDC studio in the presence of the IDC dancers. Guided by his own experience as a dancer, Hannes searches for movements and compositions that are both entertaining and exciting for the eyes and ears. Each movement has undergone strict censorship and the outcome demonstrates the path Hannes intends to continue on as a choreographer.
Hannes Þór Egilsson graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2006 (BA with honours) and then immediately joined Iceland Dance Company where he was worked for the following 7 years. Last three years he has been working independantly as a dancer, taking on projects with the company, teaching and dancing for Reykjavik City Theater. Hannes worked for a while with Kristjan Ingimarsson’s performance group and was e.g. a part of the sensational show BLAM!, which has been touring the world. Hannes’ latest project was Loco and Kicks throw a birthday party, which he co-choreographed with his fellow dancer Þyri Huld Árnadóttir.
