Experience
Charmene Pang was born and raised in Switzerland into a family from Hong Kong. She started studying dance and piano at a young age at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre de Genève. She then pursued her professional studies at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and graduated in July 2018.
Since November 2018, Charmene Pang has been a dancer/performer at Iceland Dance Company under the artistic direction of Erna Ómarsdóttir, where she appeared in « What will we sing about » directed by Pieter Ampe and in numerous works directed by Erna Ómarsdóttir, such as « AION », « Best of Darkness », followed by international tours in Hong Kong, Sweden and Spain. Charmene has recently created a short solo « Hommages » in collaboration with the tuba player Nimrod Rod for « Social Dist-Dancing », an evening launched by Iceland Dance Company.
Alongside her work as a company member, she also continues to work with various choreographers on numerous projects including Jan Lauwers/ NeedCompany and Paul Blackman for the Salzburger Festspiele, Kadir Memis Company, SHALALA (Erna Ómarsdóttir and Valdimar Jóhannsson for Steirischer Herbst in Graz). She recently took part in “Isadora Now: A Triple Bill” at the Barbican in London with Viviana Durante Company, where she performed Isadora Duncan’s “Dance of the furies” and “UNDA” a creation by Joy Alpuerto Ritter.
Charmene Pang is also developing her own work and collaborates with artists from various art fields from performing arts, music to fashion design.
