Education: Diljá completed her studies at Artez in the Netherlands in 2022 and did internships with Club Guy and Roni and Conny Janssen Danst.
Work Experience
After graduation, she choreographed the duet piece HEAR_ME with Robin Kroes and THE_AND, which was performed in the Netherlands. Diljá has also worked with Sveinbjörg Þórhallsdóttir on the piece Rof, which was showcased at the Cannes Dance Festival. She collaborated with Jóní Jónsdóttir and Eirún Sigurðardóttir (The Icelandic Love Corporation) on the works Flökkusinfónía and Vitni.
Diljá has danced for the musician BLOSSA, with performances at Lunga and Gay Pride. She choreographed the dance film MOLlisa, which was featured at the SZólóDuó Festival and Boreal Screendance Festival. She participated in Boob Sweat Gang, performed at Stálsmiðjan, and co-created and danced in Les Coquettes, which was presented at the Reykjavík Dance Festival. Additionally, she performed as a dancer in the musical Billy Elliot, staged at Borgarleikhúsið (The Reykjavík City Theatre).
In 2024, she began working with IID Company (Rotterdam) under the direction of Remy Tilburg and Robin Kroes. Diljá pursued film studies at ESCAC in Barcelona in 2023 and co-created the dance film Ást í dvala (Love in Hibernation) alongside Júlía Kolbrún Sigurðardóttir and Lísbet Sveinsdóttir as part of the Creative Summer Jobs program in Kópavogur in 2024.
Currently, Diljá is a member of the Iceland Dance Company, performing in The Orphic Circles…and other gossip by Erna Ómarsdóttir.
