MOLTA is an immersive inter­disciplinary installation and a live per­formance. Rósa Ómarsdóttir creates eco­systems which are trans­formed through natural pro­cesses. This eco­system melts, leak, de­composes, grow, morphs and evaporates. In the work MOLTA Rósa explores tentative and ever changing ecos­ystems. She ex­plores the boundaries of man, environ­ment and techno­logy, where every­thing affects each other. Humans morph together with mush­rooms, plastic particles and electrons. What springs out of the compost?

During the opening hours of the museum, visitors can walk around the installation, dwell in it and inter­act with it.

After closing, on pre decided evenings, performers will enter the space and trans­form it in a live per­formance lasting a whole evening. The audience meets the per­formers of the work, who appear as part of MOLTA's eco­system, as sculptures, creatures, animals and nature, and inter­act with the installation itself. The audience is in­vited to stay, watch, listen, hang out, eat, drink and dwell while per­formers and the environ­ment trans­form. Some­times changes are so slow that they are barely notice­able, but other times they are so quick that you don't notice them. The ex­hibition is an ex­periential work that lasts four hours. Guests can walk in and out of the space at will, but in­cluded in the ticket price is food and drink, served by chef Kjartan Óli Guðmundsson. The food is part of the eco­system itself, and even the per­formers them­selves are part of what will be on offer. It is a unique holistic ex­perience where all the senses of the audience are activated. The show is a joint project between Rósa and the Ice­landic Dance Company. In it, the author re­flects on the relation­ship between dance, choreo­graphy, music, art, body and objects, audience and per­formers.
