“In the dark times
Will there also be singing?
Yes, there will also be singing.
About the dark times.”
― Bertolt Brecht
Pieter Ampe’s work is about people who meet and hang out together.
Pieter himself likes to be naked in the snow, dance in wild parties and sing in the car.
Here he meets 8 dancers of the Iceland Dance Company.
Elín, Andrean, Tilly, Charmene, Felix, Shota, Erna and Una.
Some come from Iceland and others from far away.
Each of them with their own story.
Meeting in winter: a dark, and at times, depressing season: a time to be introvert.
Except when rolling naked in the snow, dancing in parties and singing in cars together.
So when we look into ourself, what are the questions we are faced with?
Is it important to find answers or is just sharing them questions enough?
Can we dance our questions?
Can we sing them?
To imagine a bear juggling apples while driving on a monocycle makes some cry and others laugh.
It is already a beautiful gesture to sing songs together to make the long dark nights pass.
