Lifetime

Our first breath, when we are brand new in this world, until our last. Birth, growth, curiosity, friendship, happiness, family, experience, hope, dissapointment, death. That is our lifetime. We gather layers, experience, learn to decide, be in charge, win and loose, feel grief or joy. We wish it could last forever, although sometimes it is cut short.

The piece is based on the television series “Ævi” that Sigríður Halldórsdóttir produced in collaboration with RÚV.

The piece is supported by the Icelandic Artists Fund & the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in collaboration with The Iceland Dance Company.

Premieres autumn 2020 in the City Theatre.

Inga Maren is the dancer and choreographer working in collaboration with Júlíanna Lára Steingrímsdóttir, costume and set designer. Inga Maren and Júlíanna work closely together to deliver outcome that is aesthetically intriguing and visually enticing.

The music is in the hands of BAFTA-award winning composer Ólafur Arnalds.
