Christmas is approaching and snowflakes are falling. Dark days embrace us and candlelight guides the way to the Christmas spirit. A young girl becomes curious about the mysterious Christmas spirit and follows the lights in search of its true meaning. She has heard of the power of the Christmas spirit, how it fills every space and moment of Christmas. She knows exactly that she needs to find the spirit, introduce herself to it, and have her Christmas wish fulfilled.
On her journey, she encounters magical beings and a rather grumpy Christmas Cat, a frightened Hare, and a foul-smelling Skate. Her new friends and her favorite tree in the forest help her realize that the Christmas spirit resides within her, and that friendship, gratitude, and helpfulness are part of it. At the beginning of her journey, she does not know exactly what she is searching for or in what form it might be. But along the way, she realizes how special it is to help a friend and how kindness can make anyone smile.
The music in the show is a mix of original compositions by Ásgeir, his arrangements of familiar Christmas songs, and tracks from the classic Christmas movie A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.
A christmas dance performance for the whole family.
The performance is approx. 1 hour.
After the show, a Christmas ball will be held on the stage.
Premiered November 24th 2024 on the New Stage at Reykjavik City Theatre.
