The Great Gathering

GG1The Great Gathering
by Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Alexander Roberts in collaboration with IDC dancers

Performed at Kringlan shopping mall – Saturday April 13th at 13:00

A large group of adults and children dance together with buzz in their ears, stereo of sound and steamy fog. Splashing in puddles with bleeding noses, they live in another world where they are never invisible. Spinning round and round – holding hands – the whole world a blur.

An indoor square in Kringlan becomes the venue for The Great Gathering which was first performed at Norður og niður, Sigur Rós’s Arts Festival at the end of 2017. The piece was then performed at Eiðistorg, shopping centre, at Reykjavik Art Festival 2018.
