Bjartey started working with the Icelandic Dance Group in January 2024, in a production of Romeo & Juliet by Erna Ómarsdóttir and Halla Ólafsdóttir.

Bjartey studied dance at the Classical Art School from the age of 4. After graduating from there, she got a role at the National Theater in the show Fjarskaland and danced with the youth dance group FWD Youth Company. In FWD, she worked with choreographers such as Saga Sigurðar, Kata Gunnars, Sandrine Cassini, Andrean Sigurgeirsson, Brogan Davison, Gígja Jónsdóttir, Anna Kolfinna, and others. Bjartey graduated as a dancer from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in the spring of 2021.

She has since worked with the Danish dance theater group The Nordic Beasts, which is led by choreographer Noora Hannula. She has danced there and acted in two productions in Denmark in 2022 and 2023. Bjartey danced in the heavy rock ballet Satanvatnid by Selma Reynisdóttir, which premiered in Tjarnarbíó in December 2023.

Bjartey is active in her own creation. She is a member of the performance punk band The Boob Sweat Gang, which has played at major entertainment and concert venues in the city and at festivals around the country. She is also part of the duo VENUS together with Anna Guðrúna Tómasdóttir. VENUS is a work in progress composed and performed by Bjartey and Anna. They have shown the first versions of the piece at the Reykjavík Dance Festival and in Tjarnarbíó. For the past two years, Bjartey has been in charge of stage movements in the productions of the opera group Óðs in the National Theater basement.
