Inga Maren has worked with Iceland Dance Company since 2011. During her time, has worked with a number of choreographers including Erna Ómarsdóttir, Valdimar Jóhannsson, Damien Jalet, Alexander Roberts & Ásrún Magnúsdóttir, Ragnar Kjartansson & Margrét Bjarnadóttir, Steinunn Ketilsdóttir, Anton Lackhy, Ohad Naharin, Jo Stromgren and Katrín Hall.
Outside of the company, Inga Maren has worked with choreographers including Fransesco Scavetta, Tinna Grétarsdóttir, Valgerður Rúnarsdóttir, Ólöf Ingólfsdóttir, Steinunn Ketilsdóttir & Andreas Constantinou, Bruno Caverna, Willi Dorner, The National Opera, Peter Andersson, Jóhann Freyr Björgvinsson and 50 collective (touring the USA in 2011).
Inga Maren has worked as a freelance dancer for commercials and choreographed a number of music videos. In 2020 Inga Maren choreographed and was the solo performer in the dance-work ÆVI, in collaboration with the company.
In 2007, Inga Maren founded the Culture Comp. (Menningarfélagið) in together with Ásgeir Helgi Magnússon. With this project they have collaborated with costume- and set designer Júlíanna Lára Steingrímsdóttir, composer Lydía Grétarsdóttir and director Þóra Hilmarsdóttir. Since its conception, Culture Comp. has produced five stage works and three short films. The dance-work Retrograde was nominated to the Icelandic Stage Awards and the film Retrograde travelled widely on the short film festival circuit.
Inga Maren also founded Reykjavík Dance Productions and Dari Dari Dance Company. These groups have toured internationally and created workshops and educational programs that travelled around schools in Reykjavík in collaboration with Iceland Dance Company.
As a teacher, Inga Maren has taught the Flying Low & Passing Through technique at the Arts Academy, Iceland Dance Company, Danslistarskóla JSB, Listdansskóla Íslands, Kramhúsinu, Artez and more.
