Romeo ❤️ Juliet

ROMEO ❤️ JULIET was originally created in collaboration with the dancers of the Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich and premiered in 2018, and has now been recreated with the dancers of the Iceland Dance Company. Shakespeare's classic tragedy is thoroughly deconstructed, unfolding into numerous narratives that run in parallel and forming a world teeming with lustful desire, bodily fluids and flaming tongues of fire, the exorcising power of the scream and healing love – all beneath a bright, neon-coloured heart. Adventurous scenery and costumes, captivating video work and the magnificent music of Sergei Prokofiev come together in a performance that leaves no one untouched.
