Iceland Dance Company presents THIS GRACE in collaboration with the Reykjavik Art Museum.
The work will be performed in Anna Guðjónsdóttir´s installation Pars pro toto.
“To have a body is to be effectuated“ said the philosopher Bruno Latour about having a body. To have a body is to have an affective relationship with one´s environment.
The dancers Halla, Hannes and Saga have a rendez-vous with Anna Guðjónsdóttir´s installation Pars pro toto at the Reykjavik Art Museum. Their bodies will become parts of the exhibition space and Anna´s installation; of the construction of the space, visual dimensions, light and the universe of discourse that is created.
The bodies in the work are perceivers, they move under the influence of their environment, they merge with the space, are in dialogue with it, and have a goal. Circulation in time and space influenced by myths and timeless theories on interactions where an idea meets material, need meets necessity and coincidence plays with purpose.
