Katrín Gunnarsdóttir is an Icelandic choreographer and dancer based in Reykjavík. She is interested in soft encounters, resonance, rhythm and how labour intensive choreographies reveal the relationship between action and its affect. Katrín has received numerous nominations for the Icelandic Performing Arts Awards (Gríman) and won the reward three times; as Choreographer of the year 2018 for Crescendo, Dancer of the year 2017 for Shades of History and Choreographer of the year 2013 with Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir for Coming Up. Katrín has also been nominated for the DV Culture Award for dance (2015 and 2016) and nominated in TANZ magazine (2017) with the collective Marble Crowd.

Her work has been supported and presented by national and international venues and festivals, including Tjarnarbíó Theatre (IS), Reykjavík Dance Festival (IS), Everybody´s Spectacular Festival (IS), The National Theatre of Iceland (IS), K3 Tanzplan Hamburg (DE), ICEHOT Nordic Dance Platform, Bora Bora (DK), wp Zimmer (BE), Kunstencentrum BUDA (BE), Dansearena Nord (NO), Stamsund International Theatre Festival (NO), Theatre ROXY (CH) and Dance Base Edinburgh (UK).
