Brian Gerke is a choreographer, performer, and educator whose international career has taken him throughout the United States and Europe. In Iceland he has been a member of Iceland Dance Company, director of modern/contemporary dance at the National Ballet Academy of Iceland, and co-founder of the duo steinunn and brian. He is an Associate Professor in the Performing Arts Department , with an emphasis in Contemporary Dance Practices, at the Iceland University of the Arts. A Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Registered Somatic Movement Educator, Brian holds an MFA in Modern/Contemporary Dance (Performance, Choreography, Pedagogy) from the University of Utah and continues to perform, create, and collaborate internationally, guided by his core values of compassion and integrity.
