The Iceland Dance Company Holds International Auditions

The Iceland Dance Company will hold dance auditions on February 21–22 at the company’s home, Borgarleikhúsið (City Theatre). The auditions were advertised in December and attracted enormous attention, with a total of 940 applications received, the vast majority from international dance artists from around the world.

The number of applications reflects the strong position of the Iceland Dance Company both domestically and internationally, as well as the interest generated by the company’s creative work in recent years. Following the review process, a selected group of dancers will be invited to take part in live auditions.

The Iceland Dance Company extends its sincere thanks for the great interest its work has inspired among dance artists worldwide. The auditions are part of the company’s regular efforts to strengthen the ensemble and continue its ambitious artistic development in collaboration with outstanding dance artists. They also provide more professional dancers with opportunities and access, thereby promoting diversity within the company.
